What is a stone effect finish?

The Stone Effect Finish It is a coating that reproduces the texture, veins and shades of natural stones on any support. The result evokes the materiality of stone without constraints of weight, shape and cost.

Unlike natural stone, the varnished finish is distinguished by:

  • Lightness — no added structural weight
  • Multi-support applicability — MDF, wood, composites, panels
  • Variety of Reproducible Stones — marble, granite, travertine, slate
  • Controlled texture — calibrated grain and grain
  • Reduced cost — compared to processed natural stone

Cycle: preparation → primer → material build-up → stone effect → protective transparent.

FAQ

Which stones can be reproduced?

Marble (Carrara, Calacatta, Marquina), granite, travertine, slate, limestone and custom variants on sample.

Is the texture real to the touch?

Yes, the surface has palpable graininess and irregularities. The texture level is adjustable.

Is it water resistant?

Yes, with transparent water repellent. Suitable for bathrooms and wet rooms.

Is it suitable for kitchen countertops?

For kitchen tops not in direct contact with heat. For cookers, specific heat-resistant cycles are required.

Are the veins realistic?

Yes. The Molteni Vernici laboratory reproduces specific veins of natural stones with layering techniques.

How much does it weigh compared to the real stone?

The finish does not add significant weight. On MDF, the weight is a fraction of natural stone.

How is it maintained?

Clean with a damp cloth and delicate products. The clear one seals the surface and makes it easy to maintain.

Are there technical data sheets available?

Yes. Complete documentation with ISO/EN parameters and certifications on request.

How long for the application?

The cycle takes 8-12 days for the most complex stones (veined marble). Uniform Stones Take Less Time.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

Yes, with UV-resistant transparent. Particularly suitable for facades and cladding.
