Developed by Molteni Vernici's Research and Development Center, VELVET™ is a 2K two-component finish designed to replicate the effect of fabric without using textile materials. The result is a remarkably soft-feeling surface, capable of evoking velvet through a refined matte texture that absorbs light and delivers a discreet, uniform, and timeless elegance.
Designed for the world of interior design, high-end furniture, luxury retail, hospitality, contract, marine, and interior architecture, VELVET™ finds application in boutiques, flagship stores, hotels, resorts, showrooms, contemporary villas, spas, restaurants, and exclusive residences. It is ideal for doors, boiserie, decorative panels, reception desks, counters, custom furniture, tables, seating, lighting, coverings, furnishing accessories, and architectural details where visual and tactile comfort is a distinctive element of the project.
The particular formulation creates an extremely uniform surface, characterized by high covering power and an aesthetic softness that remains unaltered over time. Unlike many traditional matte finishes, VELVET™ maintains its appearance without becoming shiny in areas subject to rubbing or mechanical abrasion, preserving the surface's uniformity even in high-traffic environments.
One of the main strengths of VELVET™ is its high application versatility. The finish adheres directly to major metallic substrates, including iron, zamak, aluminum, brass, bronze, and silver, as well as plastics, MDF, and wood, without the need for primers or adhesion promoters, simplifying the production cycle and reducing processing times.
VELVET™ can be dried at both low and high temperatures, easily adapting to industrial and artisanal production processes and offering maximum flexibility for series production and bespoke creations.

VELVET™ EFFECT FINISHES
Varnishes for precious finishes with a soft fabrics effect. Adhesion through the employment of specific primers on supports made on metal (iron, zama, aluminum, brass, silver, bronze), plastic, MDF and wood, giving the surface a warm and soft tactile aspect as the fabrics.
APPLICATIONS
Anti-Scratch, anti-usury, anti-touch, it protects itself without being overpainted. The product is designed with a very high coverage and does not get polished when subjected to mechanical abrasion.
It’s execution’s ease and its drying process from low to high temperatures make it a versatile product created and developed in exclusive for all those brands who want to realize imitations of fabrics or peach skin without too many restrictions of shapes or supports.
Non-yellowing, suitable both for interior and for outdoor employments, the product does not crumble when in contact with UV.
Applicable both with electrostatic and pneumatic equipments.
Available in all pastel colors and in natural colors such as fibers, fabrics and stones. Velvet™ can be cleaned with the traditional domestic cleaning products. Possibility of customization dyes and finishes.
