Tomorrow, a table set in an unprecedented and unexpected way awaits the guests of Molteni Vernici for the presentation of the new project La Nuit Reverse, on display in the show-room of the company from Cantù in via De Sanctis 30 in Milan for the entire duration of Milano DesignWeek.
In particular, Molteni Vernici invites interior designers, architects, customers and people interested in the innovative product that makes the table set up with a total black matt mise en place unique on Thursday 20 April at the press time of 17.00.
The event is open to all and the presentation will be followed by a lounge party at 19.00 at the show-room in via De Sanctis 30.
On this occasion, the participants will have the opportunity to meet the creatives and researchers who have developed the new Molteni product, all accompanied from music and free drinks.
Technological innovation and creativity, artisan tradition and skilful manufacturing know-how find a synthesis in the elegance and surprise that La Nuit Reverse reserves for "diners": a total immersion in an atmosphere of elegance and refinement followed by a unique sensory experience.
In fact, the project combines the famous Cantù lace from the Un Pizzo artisan workshop with the creativity and ability to develop new products of Molteni Vernici to create a unique experience: the doilies made by hand with the ancient technique of Cantù lace become the focal point of the set-up because they interpret the "Reverse" effect obtained thanks to the special paint produced by Molteni Vernici.
The surface coated with the latest product solution, in fact, reacts to heat going from opaque black to transparent.
This means that the table and related elements, such as plates and glasses, change color with heat revealing their true nature and true colour, creating a dynamic and elegant sensory experience."La Nuit Reverse"suggests the infinite applications in the design and creation of unique objects and products.
The project was developed by a team of designers and creatives from various disciplines, including design, art and architecture.
The company thanks the city of Cantù, the municipal administration and the Deputy Mayor Giuseppe Molteni for allowing the use of the former church of Sant'Ambrogio in Piazza Marconi as a location for the photo shoot for the presentation of La Nuit Reverse.

The "Reverse" effect is obtained thanks to the special paint produced by the historic Cantù company which reacts to contact with the hands or any part of the body, or to changes in ambient temperature or to radiation from a heat source.
Scenographic project presented in the Milanese showroom in conjunction with the Milan Furniture Fair, the objects on the table change color with heat, from matt black to total white, creating a dynamic and elegant experience.
But the applications that the new technology offers are endless «for example, the new special paint can be used in a practical technical field for the handles of saucepans or coffee pots to signal the increase in temperature in a logic of greater safety – explains Roberto Molteni, owner of the company – on display we present a varnish that reacts to 30 degrees, but for professional and technical uses there is also a version of the product that is sensitive to 60 degrees».
From the external surface of baby bottles to cutlery for serving dishes, possible uses and color variations are open to the creativity of designers but also to technicians to implement the safety levels of commonly used objects.
"The applications in the artistic and recreational fields are endless - concludes Molteni - an outdoor sculpture was covered with the new product which in summer, as the temperature increases, lets the original surface shine through".
Celebrated with the Compasso d'Oro in 2022, the Molteni Vernici brand creates paints, special paints and customized finishes for architects and designers, the reference market is international, the surfaces and materials on which the paints can be applied are infinite.
The investment in research and development was rewarded with a +10% in 2022, but the Canturina company has been growing steadily since 2018 with percentages between 10 and 15%. Founded by Vittorio Molteni in 1948 as a galvanic company, it began, as an integration, to produce resins to complement the work. The setting was artisanal.
In 1985 the second generation took over with Giacomo Molteni who took over the customer portfolio and abandoned the galvanic part. Starting from the treatment of metals, we moved on to wood at the service of the Brianza furniture companies.
Processes were also computerized and the product was completely traceable, from raw materials to delivery to the customer.
In those years, the company made the transition from artisanal to industrial and moved to the Cantù area, where architects converge for furniture companies.
The third generation, represented by Roberto Molteni, the current managing director, continues the expansion of the company: the headquarters and the research and development center have increased from one thousand square meters and 3 thousand and, since 2022, a new art division plant has been added, where architects and designers accompanied by specialized technicians have the opportunity to create the own made-to-measure product that meets your needs both in terms of technology and color scheme.
