Varnish Series Thermosensitive

THERMIC™ is the collection of thermosensitive finishes developed by Molteni Vernici to transform temperature into a design element. Through sophisticated thermochromic technology, the surface changes appearance with variations in heat, creating dynamic and surprising effects that make every project interactive, innovative, and instantly recognizable.

Developed by the Molteni Vernici Research and Development Center, THERMIC™ uses special thermochromic pigments that, upon reaching specific activation temperatures (30°C or 60°C), change their optical behavior by becoming transparent. This process reveals the color, texture, or finish present on the underlying substrate, creating an elegant and perfectly reversible visual transformation.

Designed for the worlds of interior design, product design, luxury retail, hospitality, contract, automotive, consumer electronics, and contemporary architecture, THERMIC™ finds application in boutiques, flagship stores, showrooms, hotels, art installations, museums, furnishing accessories, design objects, premium packaging, technical components, and interactive surfaces where the transformation of material becomes an integral part of the design experience.

Applicable, using the specific Molteni Vernici primers and cycles, on iron, zamak, aluminum, brass, bronze, nylon, ABS, PA6, polycarbonate, rigid polyurethane, acetate, MDF, plywood, laminate, wood, and numerous other substrates, THERMIC™ ensures high design versatility and maximum creative freedom.

The finish is applied using traditional pneumatic spray technologies, allowing for perfect integration into industrial production processes and great ease of application even for mass production.

Through Molteni Vernici's specific protective cycles, THERMIC™ offers high performance in terms of resistance to scratches, wear, detergents, chemical agents, and daily use, preserving the aesthetic quality of the surface and the functionality of the thermochromic effect over time.
